You send mixed signals
Forcing postive messages
While enforcing low self esteem.
You say we should be happy with ourselves
We are just how we are supposed to be
Then we turn on the tv
And wonder "why can't that be me?"
You encourage us to talk about it
But shun us when you know
And put the guilt on us.
You make us feel guilty
So we lie and hide
We create a perfect front
And keep the secret inside.
You say we deny the truth
Maybe it's just something we do
But maybe you do too.
You want us to be honest
But how can we tell you
When in this world
Eating disorders are so taboo?

- This is for all of those out there like me. It's not meant to be a steriotypical thing, or to offend anyone. Everyone's not like this, no two people are the same. I know all of that. This is just from my point of view.
Oh, just a quick note to you, Dopey. I can almost predict what you're going to say. You make me feel bad, as you say it's "sad" and you've "already given" your advice or point of view. I don't really know what you want me to do..... just a thought -

I liked this post alot, it reminds me alot of how parents and friends to advice you and tell you things trying to change you when your are who you are and you want to be like you are because that is what makes you. Good job Bel, keep posting.

I see the darkness coming all is bleak...

Wow, this hit home. I know exactly what you're saying... I know it's hard. But keep your head up

Stay strong, and email me whenever you need to talk to someone. You write free verse very well... with lots of emotion. I really enjoyed this for that reason. My fave lines were: "And keep the secret inside./You say we deny the truth/Maybe it's just something we do/But maybe you do too." Awesome work, Bel! I REALLY enjoyed this.
