What’s going on in the world today?
It seems like everything’s getting worse for some
As I remember way back when I could walk
And I didn’t need all of these straps on my chair

You look at me and feel sorry because I can’t walk
You look at me and feel sorry that I’m fighting my disability
You look at me from the outside
I have a heart you know.

I can race up and down the court with my chair chasing the basketball
I can race to win the gold medal
I can walk also but that’s not easy
I can laugh, talk, just like you can

My heart can believe in myself
My heart can tell me when I’m not trying enough
Or if I’m giving up on life to quickly
Just like yours can.

I have a gift
I got a gift that would challenge me
To see if I can make it threw
Seems to me like I can make it threw with you

When I first met you
You didn’t feel bad
You wanted to be my friend
You look up to me

Everyday my life is scary
But with a friend like you
How can it be scary
When you’ll talk to me and make me laugh

Thank you Erin
You & I make each other think differently
Even if you can’t be online
I know you care about me, like I care about you

Min,

This poem is amazing. I had to read it to a few friends of mine, and they said and I agreed, you sound like a younger version of me. To be honest with you, after I read this poem, I went and looked you up and read all your poems. I haven't fully dived into your website yet. Your poems had me in tears of understanding as I too am physically disabled. I've added you to my MSN list. I hope you don't mind. I really wanna talk to you.

If you're talking about our Erin, she is definitely special

là où est mon amour?
donde está mi amour?
wo ist meine Liebe?
