ok before I you read the poem I want you to know I'm not anti-america or anything I'm anti-politics, and anti-american moral.  In my eyes we are now no better than what we came from, we take without representation, our democracy has become something it was never intended to be.

it's in the news each and every day
another congress man gone astray
what an example for all our children
at the top is where downfall begins
"my country tis of thee sweet land of liberty"
liberty fading fast into the darkness of night
yet we allow it to fall without a fight.
let the poor get poorer
and the rich get richer
taxation without representation
the new cry of our nation
pay no mind to the minority those in need
as long as you and your children you can feed.
Injustic has now become justice
you kill a baby and call it a choice
no taxatation without out a voice!
rape the childrens mind and say it's fine
preach in the streets you call it a crime
"oh beautiful for spacious skies"
and multitudes upon multitudes of lies.
tax cut and the building up of social security
being given a sense of false liberty
time and again promises made and broken
words fall short of that which was spoken.
"my country tis of the sweet land of liberty."

we fall like the stars then rise like the sun..Repentence.Forgiveness.We are blame worthy hold us to our wrongs..but don't hold our wrongs against us

Interesting write...  I agree with most of it, though.  Though it was quite well written, though.  Good job.

But His word was in my heart
like a burning fire
Shut up in my bones;
I was weary of holding back,
And I could not.

Awesome poem! Not that I know anything about American politics, but in a way I can apply it to the True North Strong and Free. Sorry to say though, but Canada's got you beat on crap politians and such. You guys have it easy down there. We have to deal with issues such as when to put our senior citizens on ice floats and leave them there to float away (KIDDING!!! We don't do that!! And if you don't belive me, ask Regina.). Anyway, in all seriousness, your poem was filled with the many truths about this world and it can be applied to any country. Excellent write, as usual (I just love your poetry)

Very nicely done here. A lot of power within this poem. I used to write about such topics, it's good to see others doing so aswell.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

I do believe that everything stems from the original morals and values, if any was,  installed on people when they are/were growing up.
