In a dream world

August of my freshman year
I was late to my 2nd period class
my mind was filled with fear
I prayed for it to pass

One day I was sick
and I stayed home from school
the insults were really thick
they were all being so cruel

except for you with your long brown hair
your kind eyes and gentle smile
you told me what they said just wasn't fair
I just knew we'd be friends for awhile

Two months of a story book friendship
Then suddenly a rift in our lives
we were ripped apart by betrayal
it stabbed me like thousands of knives

Ten months later we're back on track
we're better friends as a matter-of-fact
Thirteen more months of a story book friendship
we're "bestest friends" forever till the end!

Great tribute to your friend. There were a few places where the flow and meter were off, but the message behind the poem was great!

This is SUCH a cute tribute! I really enjoyed this.. The fact that you two overcame a rift in the friendship that was serious enough to cause a break for a year shows that you two obviously have a close bond. Cherish that! Friends are the best... This is so sweet, and I know she appreciates this. Nice work!

Awww, Stace!!!!! *hugs* thanx sissy!!! We did overcome a lot of bad times, and I'm glad that we are as good of friends as we are!
