No matter how much you love me
No matter how much you care
You have to let go
Some things just aren't always there
Throw away your pride
Go ahead, break down and cry
Allow your heart to shatter
I promise you won't die
You have to realize
True love takes two
With out another
The emotion can't persue
Let down your heart's walls
There's one more girl to love
Not one like me
She'll hold you and not shove
Be happy for the times we had
Don't block the view
My memories will never vanish
I will always love you

I wrote this when I broke up with my boyfriend of 2 years... We shared everything together but I just felt like I couldn't continue the relationship...

What don't kill you can only make you stronger...

I really liked this poem. A very nice one. I liked the way you expressed yourself here. Seemed like you were, in a sense, letting him go, but at the same time telling him that you would always love him. Well that's what I got from it at least.
Anyhow, wonderful job on this one. Hope to see more!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Unfortunately everything must come to an end. I disagree with something in your piece, though. You say true love takes two? It doesn't always. Voice of experience here and some other people in here will feel that too.
Other than that, you've expressed yourself well.

Thanks for the read.

that's really sweet, i hope you two can be friends (people say exes can't be friends, but that's a lie). me and my ex are friends (we went out with each other without knowing each other), although it took us 3 years to talk to each other again (most of it had to do with moving etc.)  but now, i don't want to be her boyfriend, i just want to be her best friend.  Oh well, that's what I'm thinking of.

I liked this alot Jessica.
Very well written.
The whole message of the poem was good.
Though I do agree with AF- It doens't take 2 people to have true love.
Great write!
Keep posting.

I see what you're saying here, but along with EJ I disagree with what you said about love taking two.  You did a nice job with this poem... it's filled with emotion.  I really hope that y'all are still friends.  It takes a lot to continue to stay that way after a relationship like that, but I hope everything worked out     Nice job here.

I understand what everyone meant by not thinking "true love takes two"... when I was writting this I was referring to a stable relationship. I know you can love someone very dearly even when they don't love you... But thanks!!!

the title makes me think of that whiney houston song.

i like the poem, however i suggest you change the wording of the title, even just tweak it a bit.

i don't think anyone likes that song.  heh.

It also reminded me of that song by Whitney Houston.  I enjoyed this piece, especially the lines
"True love takes two
With out another
The emotion can't persue"
I agree.  You can love someone, but I think true love exists only when the love is mutual.  But everyone has their opinion.  Great job!
