We were friends and we were lovers
Now we're back to friends
If that even, we haven't talked for a month.

It hurt a lot at first but now I've accepted
It's actually better this way I think
I've learned a lot and grown up even more.

I held incredible feelings for you
Now they're just memories
But that's okay cause life goes on.

You loved me in your own, special little way
You taught me how to trust again
I was shattered when you found me and now I'm okay.

If Commodus was vexed, then I'm perfectly fine
I know I can love again
I just don't know who or when I will.

It was great while it lasted but it just didn't last
I'm actually glad you left me
Cause I had to learn to love myself.

I owe you more than you know
More than you'll ever know
More than you want to know.

I owe you my sole, my sock and my toe ring...
Since you STOLE MY SHOE AND WON'T GIVE IT BACK!!!

*~*LOL. Sorry you guys, but I couldn't resist putting that in there. He actually did steal my shoe, and wouldn't give it back once upon a time. This isn't one of my best (especially with the last part, eh?), but I needed to say 'Goodbye, and I'm over you' somehow. I'll end up writing a better one (or worse, depends what your humor's like) later!

ha, this has a funny ending but i really love the stanzas before that the most.  this was...well, incredibly powerful and applicable to my life.  i was kind of stunned at first because i think i've had the verbatim thoughts!!  so i feel for you, except not on that shoe issue, you're alone on that one...    This is very touching.  I hope things work out for you, best of luck, etc.  There really isn't anything to say except that i know where you're coming from.

yknow, its funny that all the times i had writer's block, i just wrote a poem about my writer's block, and BOOM! it was gone... i didnt actually post it (well once i did), but that helped to get the ball rolling. just a suggestion.

anyway, nice poem, and a pretty funny ending. Keep up the good work!

A good way to get over writers block is to write funny stuff, like this.  Also, I keep a little notebook of ideas for when I get writers block, and it helps.  You should try it.

HAHAHA!  LMAO.  The ending is so funny!  That really got my rollin... thanks for the laugh!
As for the situation... wow, I know how that feels.  It's hard to get over someone that you grew close to like that.  Good luck!
Nice poem, I really enjoyed it!
