Your father says mean things to you,
my father tells me I'm fat, I'm ugly,
your father just says you're a pain.
You say he makes you feel bad,
I understand that,
but he shouldn't have that power over you.
You say you're depressed,
but if you were you wouldn't be telling me,
you wouldn't be reaching out like this.
You've done this before,
you said that your family had no money,
and that you were going to have to live outside.
Stop saying you're depressed to get attention
Stop lying to us to get us to sympathize.
Please just stop.

You speak it very true. I knew someone who constantly threatened to commit suicide, yet they have not one scratch on their whole body, it's depresssing and it makes me sick when someone lies about serious issues just to get attention. Thanx for breaching that subject to get things out in the open.

Great poem here.  I honestly can relate.  A good friend of mine was constantly complaining about this "problem" that she had, but I could tell she was fine b/c I was actually dealing w/ that problem.  It is awful for people to lie about such serious things just to get attention.  I hope this person really is OK though.  Nicely done!

I totally agree with you, but your friend is reaching out for you, and it obvious she needs someone, because although her problems are petty compared to yours, they are important to you.  Just remember, "the grass is always greener in the other persons yard, not matter what your life may be you rhink your life is hard"
(thank disney for that one)

Great Write

Allysa~
Some people really do this. But you should be there for this person no matter what. Maybe they are just trying to find someone to reach out to. Listen to what they have to say, in the end it might turn out good for them!

She snapped out of it.

they do it for the attention, they don't know how to get it any other way, so they act out and say and do things hoping for attention, of any kind, just to be noticed. It is sad...try not to be too angry, understand there is an underlying issue, and if you can't be a part of it, then move on.
did I mention this is a really good write?!

It was one of those "my seventeen year old boyfriend (who's not really my boyfriend) who lives three hours away is ignoring me and being depressed again so I might as well imitate him so I can make your life a living hell and blame it all on you even though I'm not depressed I'm just mad at him and I won't admit it because I love him" kind of deals.  Ugh.

I can definitely understand what you're saying here. I once had a friend like this. Notice that I said "once" I didn't need a friend like that. They thought that only that stuff happened to them. They always tried to bring me down with them. But I really like your poem, I'm sure a lot of us can relate to it.

"One day you'll love me as I onced loved you,
one day you'll cry over me, as I once cried over
you, and one day you'll want me but I won't want you.

I think it's cool that people can relate to this.
I don't have this kind of problem, but I have a blame problem...
Nothing is my fault.
