The beauty of it surrounds us.
It enhances our senses,
and the world drifts away...
Now there's only the two of us.

The scent of you teases my nostrils,
and your smile lights in my eyes.

Such feelings rage through me,
and I don't understand,
but your touch is reassuring
as your hand caresses my cheek,
so lightly that I don't know if it's your hands,
or the breeze.
I look into your eyes…
they are so soft.

Your hand slides down my arm,
and little shocks of lightning
reaches my brain.

We both know what we want to do.

You lean down to press your lips against mine.
I feel your breath on my cheek.
My eyes close.
But then, all of a sudden,
they open and I am back in my room,
lying in my bed…
A dream.

I lie back in my bed,
eager to get back to sleep.
Eager to meet you in my dreams,
and awake again,
but this time,
with a loving knowledge that
you’re still in my life,
still mine to cherish,
instead of this nightmare,
and the painful reality
that I’ve lost you forever.

my heart hurts...

--Marie

Honey, I don't know what to say...
Well you'll pull through, you always do.  You're a very strong person, Marie, and a very incredible and valuable one as well.
Your life will move ever onward, I guarantee you.  You are young yet, and that is a virtue.
Keep your eyes on the road ahead, not the ghosts of the past.

Your beginning paved the way for an awesome poem.  I loved each heart felt line and related to it for the similarities in this situation is all so the same for both of us.  Excellent read.  Thanks for sharing

I know that feeling too well. My dream was that my boyfriend would finally have enough time for us to go out to a movie or something, and unfortunately, it only remained a dream.

First on the poem.  It was amazing.  I loved the imagery and everything.  It was great.
Now on your situation.  You are a very strong person, so I know you will get through this.  Just keep your head up.  Just like Allan said, pretty much.

And if you cant smile, just get up and dance like this little guy!!  It'll make you feel better!

Marie, this is an excellent poem which shows just how I know you feel. You will get over this, I know you will, and your strength and passion will be there to lead you onto the future for you. We all will have our hearts torn apart from something that we CANNOT control, and you have been a victim of this. Your life will lead you to many great things...dream of those situations, they come with much better rewards, trust me. Remember that there are many people that can make you as happy as ever, and you will find this person. Stay sweet and strong, you'll pull through. Great poem as usual from ya.

--Brenton

If you give a person a title, then you really dont have to know them...but, they may just be the person who can make you see how happy life can be.
