Between the Lines

Echoes the Night

I lay awake, remembering firsts,
communicating with my thoughts.
I can daydream my nights away
wanting to drift in pleasantries,
mood away my blues with
soft memories of you.

I leave a candle to show the way,
keeping my passions burning
waiting for your shadow
to play upon me,
to touch me with your eyes,
to release in me the whispers
I secure in hold for only you.

I shall linger beneath the warmth
of dreams across time,
echoing moments shared,
until swept into a pattern of hold,
as I chamber you within my heart
beneath the canopy of night
waiting for the light of day
to return me, to the real and you.

Under darkness, you cover my time,
comforting me in travel,
paving the road to sleep
with your presence lighting my way,
allowing tomorrow to join my today
in a love that shall never fade,
as long as my mind is landscaped
by the world of you.

Beautiful poetry as usual!!

Love the creativeness of these lines...

"with your presence lighting my way,
allowing tomorrow to join my today
in a love that shall never fade,
as long as my mind is landscaped
                 by the world of you."

Those memories oh so strong....They bring out the poet in you!

Strong memories... which seem to have bittersweetness in them... I enjoyed the read..as usual..

Rich colors across a mural of emotions -- pictures taken with the saturating exposure of the correct words chosen.  Very scenic.  And relateable.
