*For my friend, and one of my inspirations. . . Wilfred Yeats*

Like the poet before him who bore his name
He spoke the words of love and life
Words that he gleaned from
       the harvest of his experience
Words that he shared with us
around the table of his heart

And we, we who would be poets as well,
We sat, we broke bread with him,
And we listened as he told us
       the tales of his life
We listened as he shared with us
       the lessons of his spirit

I wrote a poem for him a while ago
In it, I called him the Painter of Words
And spoke of the way that
he could show us his heart
The way that he could
show us his soul with just a word

What I wouldn't give now for that power
Because, if I did have that power
I would paint for him
a scene worthy of his talent
A place that he might live in
to continue to share with us

Like the poet before him. . .

I didn't know him nearly as most of you did...but I'm finding this almost unbearably sad.  A fine tribute!

a worthy and lovely tribute for a poet held dear to us all.

Feels like Im dancing with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred, my heart is humble

Sob..I hate this fact, if it is such, that he is really gone. Can you tell me Sven, I am still not sure, if all these tributes mean he is still gravely ill, or has gone to better lands.

Sven,
So beautifully and tenderly written.  A deep loss of a wonderful poet and loving soul. His words will continue to live on in our hearts, and we will smile when we remember his gentle thoughts that touched us all. He will be missed, but not forgotten...
