**for those of you who dont know one of Passions most gifted is very ill, Wilfred(Bill)Yeats.
Back when I originally posted this poem, he wrote to me and asked my permission to take some of the words and meaning and write his own version.
Several other times he sent me poems of mine, that he had turned into beautiful sonnets...but in his modest nature he never wanted to post them.
That's Bill, gracious, and modest.
His version of this has been moved to this forum in his honor...Id like to dedicate this one in that same spirit...
Thank you Bill, for all that you taught and shared.
We love you, and hold you dear in our "treasure chests"

~Mere Words Wont Do You Justice~

Lonely is just too pretty of a word ... to define the way I sometimes feel ...
it could never do this ache for you justice ... cant describe it and make it feel real.
Tears is just too little of a word ... to define the way I sometimes cry ...
for I could drown in my own river of tears ... I fear these eyes will never run dry.

Poetry is just too vague of a word ... to define my desperate need to write ...
it's the only thing that comforts me ... all that holds me in the dark of night.
Muse is just too small of a word ... to define the inspiration I find in you ...
you are the reason for my rhyme ... my pen exists only to write verse to be held true.

Desire is just to cold of a word ... to define the fire inside that burns inside of me ...
it cant describe the flames that rise up ... cant explain the depth of the intensity.
Love is just not enough of a word ... to define my undying emotion ...
it would take a volume of poetic words ... to properly describe my heart's devotion.

There are times when my words fail me ... when they simply cant describe or define,
still I will always write for you ... etching this love in the sands of time.
For all I have left are my words ... and the God given gift of poetry ...
so I engrave your name in poetic gold ... to hold you forever in fate and destiny.

Janet Marie

for DeVante' ... the reason I write ... always

JM, you have such a sweet and caring soul....a truly touching, beautiful tribute to an incredible poet and person.  What a sad situation this is...

Janet I remember this and I think it's wonderful what you've done here. For once I don't have the words to describe my feelings!!
I'll dedicate the following words of mine to Bill and I know that you will understand!

The Reason There's a Why

When I expose my feelings something inside of me
tells me I won't be the same
I read the morning news I get the longing blues
too many thoughts I can't explain.

Give me good news where can it take me
what can it do for me to make me a man
the worst won't break me but never escape me
the rest can heal me and I can heal the rest.

When I see a moonbeam above a silent stream
like a vision in the night
I see the wisdom I see the everything
I see the only peace in sight.
It's there I get thinking what makes it all so bold
when you're looking through the gift of life
those precious times glow Lord I just want to know
where I'm going bye and bye.

Give me good news where can it take me
what can it do for me to make me a man
the worst won't break me but never escape me
the rest can heal me and I can heal the rest.

And if I stay there I'd never get anywhere
but I can come back in time
It's in that moonbeam it's in that silent stream
it's in the reason there's a why.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie
