Man is disconnected from birth. The very act of birth is one of disconnecting, from a familiar warm place, into a cold world of confusion among other beings who are similarly disconnected. That’s the one feature we all have in common... Uncertainty. Not one of us have a clue as to life’s journey. Yet man spends his time and money trying to connect, to be a part of, and categorize everything around him. Why not just accept it? The road goes on forever, and the stories never end... |

Well.. I could argue the philosophy for I think while accepting is good..so is the knowledge and understanding that comes from the seeking and catagorizing... I enjoyed..because it made me stop and think..and I do agree we are all disconected.. and that perhaps is in some ways the hardest thing for us to accept.. |

... Thank you all so much ... I am answering your replies all at once, because this poem was meant to incite discussion. Philosphy is as varied in opinion as there are human minds. This is a short piece, but there are questions that we can ask, and listen to each other's answers, and that is how we learn, is it not? The other thing that we have in common is communication, and as writers, we are naturally inclined to discuss philosophy! So, the floor is open..... The road goes on forever, and the stories never end... |
