  Of the branches

  She asked
  Do the branches
  Respect the leaves

  I asked
  Can one thrive
  Without the other

  She said
  I am here
  Loose your thoughts
  And I will open
  Like a leaf

  She asked
  Will you be
  Strong and supple
  As a branch

  She said
  Remember
  In the fall
  I must move on

  I said
  I shall save your spot
  Until spring
  Will you return

  She said
  Nay
  Such is life
  But we may share
  For a season

  I said
  You gather the light
  And feed me
  I will draw from the earth
  And feed thee
  Such is life
  For a season
  We are one
