Evening’s Begun
Virginia Salter

Summer, sweet summer
sailing azure waters
‘cross iridescent waves
‘neath powder-blue sky

schooners, clippers crisscross
to the breezes, list, fly, settle at peace
in-tandem two sail southward
trio heads north

methodically Puget Sound fills
sunset worshipers gather
in anticipation

Thank you for the poem, beautifully writen. I used to teach sailing, and miss it. You brought back a lot of memories. Thanks

Love this one, Virginia. The pic is beautiful! It all reminds me of the few fortunate weeks I have spent on the shores Grand Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. There are always tall ships, sailboats, and fishing boats out in the water. Lovely sights. Thanks for the memory!
