When a friend betrays you that's the ultimate pain. My best friend for 20 years did this to me over and over again. It took me a long time to turn my back on her. It still hurts 4 years later.
I enjoyed reading this. Hope it gets better.

Kris - Yeah I also have had the same thing maybe not for 20 years, but u can't just walk away from them on the first mistakes I guess and I think you must be a very good friend to do so.

If you want friends, you must show yourself friendly. I am sure with your devotion as a friend that you will find and make many more friends. Sorry that your friend was not there when you needed them. I hope that they will come to realize how valuable a true friend truly is.
