What’s a mother to do?

What do I do
When I look at my child?
So sweet and cuddly
I just have to smile!

Her pretty pink face
With a smile all a glow
Till sissy takes her favorite toy
Oh say it isn’t so!

Her smile disappears
And what’s a mom to do
But ask God for patience
And seek another point of view

The day goes on with whining and crying
Sometimes a smile in between
The hopes of a good day are slowly dying
I ask God ‘what does this mean?’

The day comes to that wonderful end
When the sun finally says goodnight
It’s bath time and story time and prayers we send
Then time to turn out the light

A two and a five year old
Bedtime’s not always easy
But they settle when told
And start to get sleepy

As I look at their faces
So quiet and sweet
I thank God for my children
I think they're pretty neat!

A very sweet portrait here, C...  may all domestic households and families have such a caring mother!

Watching them sleep makes it all come together and you realize then ... just how much you love them
