I didn't realize who she was
until she mentioned your name
she said you were somewhat famous
that you had a little fame

She seemed to be the opposite
of the woman you described to me
you said she was distant, cold
and would never set you free

Her gentle humor amazed me
her smile was genuinely nice
and when she told me how kind you are
I swallowed once or twice

I wanted to blurt out the truth
of the lies he told about her
I wondered who else he's used
there are many more I'm sure

My shame has been replaced
with anger so hot it'll burn
I intend to teach a lesson, sir,
that only you can learn!

The next time that I write of you
will be to tell the truth of it
Are you ready? Are you primed?
Are you squirming where you sit?

Bittersweet words, PdV... Ones that far too many women can attest to...

It is indeed a surreal feeling....bizarre and for me in a similar situation...mortifying.  After that...NO GOING BACK for me!

Excellent reminder.....

You certainly have expressed the feelings that many of us have felt.  Well done!

There's no defending
all men cheat and lie for sure
they are such scoundrels

we know they must lie
wife told different story
women never lie

women act the same
whether with husband or friend
you can be quite sure

she would not demean
be frigid, cold, off-putting
or profane at all

I met her you see
she is so nice and charming
he is a liar

I am not minimizing ... only showing that there truly is another side of a coin that is not as obvious as others may think.

Outstanding Sharon!

Sharon - I have a great idea!!!!  Kick his cat!  That'll fix his wagon.  As a matter of fact, if he doesn't have a cat, buy him one and THEN kick it!  What's that?  Ulterior motives?  Me?  How could you think that of a sweet old lovable sailor like me?
