standing on a shadow's lace

     Lost My Glue

even in my darkest hour
I know you are there
waiting in your silence
with shadows that you wear
I'm not one to ask for help
even when I'm weak
maybe it's time for me
to learn a new technique
I hated weakness in others
and saw it as a flaw
but now...
I find I too am human
and have lost strength to draw
things I knew about myself
are no longer true
I have been the strong one
and now I've lost my glue
you always stand as my shadow
today could yours I stand
I now know,  I can't do this alone
and I need your hand

you could be my twin sister with these thoughts, they are so in line with what I'm going through, I've lost ALL of my glue....but I'm still holding it together somehow!

Isn't it nice to know that even when you can't find your glue someone will help put you back together.
Enjoyed!!

Holding it all together is never easy, Helen.  Just have to try to do your best, it's all you can do.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

In my opinion I see no weakness but strenght
when people ask for help, because it takes a lot of courage to do so.

Great poem and take that hand!

A hand for you my friend
and shade long as you need
no shame in resting in the cool
if reprieve is what you seek
I'll cast for you a shodow
much taller than I am
you can catch your breath there
just call me Elmer ma'am

Ahh, at times, the strong have to turn to the strong, as only they can understand..being strong is a lonely profession at times...gentle smile

Helen ~ I really love this poem, it seems that's I lose my glue all the time, so reading this was like a mirror of introspective.  You used an perfect theme to convey the many emotions/situations here! - it's a keeper~

Take care,
Melissa~

A hand once extended in friendship is never recalled. You only need to extend yours again and the other is waiting.

Very well written, Helen. I like the develpment of the theme, and the way you brought to light what you meant by "glue."  Everybody else probably understood it from the start - thanks for guiding me along the thread.  I really enjoyed this poem.
