How might I speak to her
as she flies. Wings above
the skies, high on love
as the days slip by.

Daydream rivers in the air
flow the trail of where she moves
though I see only blossoms
in the wake of her endless fugue.
Too, the dream is in the motion,
clouds to oceans falling through.

Might I hear one word there
in rain gently hidden in the mist
of all her thoughts unspoken,
of all translations of not knowing,
yet she reminds me by this
that she was once here.

The beat of God's heart is the day,
His breath is but the week,
and one year He will say to me
that this dream I seek
has gone away.

Where does rain fall
on a clear blue day?
Where do shadows glow
to show the way?
Where does gold corrode
to gray?

She speaks
yesterday, yesterday,
and tomorrow.
