In passing you along the way
Exchange of smiles, the same each day
A quick nod then my eyes downcast
Afraid to speak of passion's past

One night shared in painful embrace
You wore jeans, I wore black lace
Now you are healed in lover's game
While I am left with awful shame

When it ended, you scolded me
"it just happened! Just let it be!"
but I could not forget the way
you led me in this game you play

Hidden from even my own heart
token feeling I cannot start
Eyes downcast as you look at me
All I see is what cannot be

Oh those mistakes are so genuine and we all make them! But as far as scolding you...uh uh that's a no no!  Wonderful insightful write...these things happen and it takes two to make them happen.......lovely open hearted write......I'd never scold you I would just hold you....and that's the difference......love this write!

Ouch!  This one stings with regret.

Ah ... black lace and jeans ...
Stirred a memory or two here, gal !

No shame ... no blame
For two shared the flame~
No looking back in a moment's regret
Knowing forever ... you'll not forget~
And in some corner of his mind
He will also remember the time~
jeans met lace ...
in tender embrace~

Isn't it comforting to know that they also have memories ?
Yeah ... I think so.

Nicely written, poetess.

Forgive -- but don't forget...
Give...    and don't regret.

You've painted a powerful scene of a reality, and I can sense the emotions involved. Can you see the positive in what happened?

Painful to read sweet poetess taken by one moment and cast aside the next.

Every word of this echoes my heart, PDV... happiness is indeed fleeting, but the ache seems to last forever... and you've written the regrets and wishing otherwise so very well.

Ms DeVine - I really like the jeans/lace thing.  But it does leave me wondering - why would any woman want to sleep with a man who wears lace?  *puzzled eyes*  Yanno?

My goodness, boys in lace you said?

Oh no, girls in lace and boys in jeans
Does that match, lace and jeans I mean?

Love the read.
