Captured by an evil genie
A maiden of beauty rare
Was given the chance of three wishes
To wish what she would dare

Said she to the Master…
“My wishes are done
I closed my eyes tight
And wished only one

Freedom I wished not
For How can I be free
If I never allowed
You to capture me

Nor do I wish Fortune
For what good could be gold
It’s not very comforting
No warm arms to hold

Fame would be waste
On the likes of myself
I desire not to live
Dancing upon a glass shelf

My only true wish
I give towards you
Think only of others
As you do what you do.”

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...

This was absolutely terrific...and almost the "Golden Rule", what a wonderfully insightful poem.  I really enjoyed it.

Why don't you repost some of your earlier work?

That was an awesome fable. And I loved the moral.
