        Winner's Circle

I am at the starting gate
to race this race I've had to wait
stopped before by many things
heavy chains and broken wings
it is my turn to win a race
disappointments to replace
no obstacles to stop me this time
the winner's circle it is mine

We each have already won before the race has even begun.  Enjoyed this, Helen.
