The scapel has been weilded
my heart now lies in two
The surgical destruction of the
love I give to you

Cutting into me with silence
no regrets for all the pain
Just grab another handful of my
heart and dont accept the blame

Equal in your harsh words
Your hard charade will die
For all the bitterness you hold
Is enough to make men cry

The door was opened for a while
and now it is firmly shut
The loving feeling you supplied
was a stabbing in the gut

Air and dust my makeup
my heart now turned to stone
A lesson learnt of cruel love
Its you that stands alone

So cast away forever
this love that once was true
and know in your slumber darling
part of the problem was you
Rich

nb.How can you quantify love?

Wow... overflowing with emotion and feeling... Felt every line.  Good luck my friend

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

The bitterness is seeping out through the lines and filling the pain with anger along with sorrow.....amazing how this kind of hurt can produce such intense poetry!

The hurt you display is so full of sorrow
that it hurts one to read it.
But that is not a bad thing
just a sign of a wonderfully written poem.
