I piled stones
On three corners today,
Cairns marking where
I’ve been, so I don’t,
In circles stumble this way
And think
That I have not seen
These turns before.

Piled along the edges
Of the path were
Other alters,
Or markers
From those who
Walked before me
And worshipped
Or noticed at least
The importance
Of remembering.

What bright cloth
Or feather do you
Offer now,
To honor these
memories?

Now I feel like a defacer of nature.  I was taught to blaze a trail.  Now, maybe, I'll use more stones and sticks, instead.

I feel like a butterfly who has happened upon an extremely reverent moment. I shall leave pixie dust upon which dreams will ride.
