I saved time in a bottle
with the sand you collected for me
I put in the rocks I gathered
and the bits of sand dollars for my memories

Just bits and pieces
No one would ever guess
That sand in a bottle
Could bring such happiness

It has no dollar value
This is very true
It is however priceless
Because it was time spent with you

Now I have a memory
I can hold in my hand
My special bottle
       Filled with sand………………
*********************************************************
The sky wasn’t overcast
Warm sand burning my feet
You holding my hand
The breeze salty ~ yet sweet

Happiness overflowing
Rejuvenated…… spirit on the mend
More love in my heart
Than you could comprehend

The roar in my ears
Inner peace found
Each wave a symphony
Of joyous sound

I tried not to get wet
~ for a minute or two ~
then I had to find treasures
in my waters blue

a magical day on the North Coast
10 mile Beach……..me and you
for each of our hearts
this was long over due ……………
~SEA~

Balladeer~ my sister in law was teasing my husband about being a "big spender" and I felt like saying "you just don't get it"....but that was painfully obvious

Sea congrats on your 8000th, you are some particpant that is for sure!  This brought to mind an anniversary present I got once, in a beautiful box, and inside was a note saying, "I promise to love you forever", well it meant a ton to me, but he lied!    I loved this and Sea, honey, I love you too!

Congratulations!

Beautiful poems to mark this wonderful milestone Susan. I can relate so much to the first one ... I have a little tiny bottle of sand I keep with me at my office. It holds some of my own special memories, no kidding! Much enjoyed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

SEA - I wonder why more people don't understand what you know?  Perhaps they think a Mastercard has to be there to make it "priceless"?  Go figure.  Nicely written.  Incidently, congrats on your 8,000.  I feel like such a slouch.

These are both beautiful treatments of sand.  I really must save them, yes, especially the first for it is a great reminder to all.  I think I must purchase an hourglass for myself and my loved ones and place with it that poem. Okay?????????????????

Congratulations!!! Holy Mackererl, 8000!!!

Wow, first, congratulations, that is a big milestone. The poems, I love. I know the way a bit of the oceanscape can hold memories. I have a special shell from a perfect beach, with a (used to be) perfect man.
