I moved down to this city To realize my dreams "Good luck! It won't be easy!" Is what they all told me. I knew from the beginning That mind-set was the key, For there's more to succeeding Than wishing it to be. You'll find some words of wisdom Most anywhere you go If you keep your mind open And let the world show You'll see the more you learn The more there is to know It's an on-going process That'll bring you to your goal... I left behind the beauty And clean air of my home To break into "The Industry" Completely on my own Prepared to face rejection I learned from my mistakes A strong determination Is part of what it takes... You'll find some words of wisdom Most anywhere you go If you keep your mind open And let the world show You'll see the more you learn The more there is to know It's an on-going process That'll bring you to your goal... As I search for a foot-hold That'll get me through the door, I think of all that I've been told And contemplate once more The words of wisdom given By all the people who Helped make the world we live in And to their dreams kept true. Between them all I've noticed A reoccurring line: "It's being at the right place At the right time." Worn-out on the surface, These proverbs are ignored, But delve into their crux And see the future's yours. You'll find some words of wisdom Most anywhere you go If you keep your mind open And let the world show You'll see the more you learn The more there is to know It's an on-going process That'll bring you to your goal... Did you officialy "make it" yet? And how many words of wisdom have you truly listened to over the years? Sometimes it seems like the world has an opinion, but none of them work for you. Oh wait, that was me  You always give something to think about and smile about. S |
