In a corporeal internship...

We live our lives in isolated bubbles;
For each of us, a separate reality...
Everyone has his own world of troubles
Though in the eyes of others, we share identity...

And rare is the occasion
When we find someone who
Relates to our situation
And helps to see us through
Our famalies stand-by;
Our friends...  they may try...
But when it comes right down to it,
It's "me, myself and I..."

We live our lives in isolated bubbles;
For each of us, a separate reality...
Everyone has his own world of troubles
Though in the eyes of others, we share identity...

Like satellites on a trip through space,
Orbiting in circles from face to place...
Our worlds spin around at a furious pace;
All too often we lose sight and get caught up in the race...

We tend to be selfish
Because we must survive,
And when we don't get our wish,
Our tempers come alive
Though you may disagree,
This is what I see.
Albeit we can try to change,
Of this we're all guilty.

We live our lives in isolated bubbles;
For each of us, a separate reality...
Everyone has his own world of troubles
Though in the eyes of others, we share identity...

And strange is the feeling of being all alone
In a room of people -- all of whom are known...
To this emotion, some may be more prone,
But is it something that can ever really be outgrown?

And stranger is the thought regarding point of view:
Depending where we sit, the angle will be new,
And every person sees only what he wants to
Open-minded people are around, but they are few...

We live our lives in isolated bubbles;
For each of us, a separate reality...
Everyone has his own world of troubles
Though in the eyes of others, we share identity...

We synthesize
With other lives
When a common trait is found
And hope it works,
Though darkness lurks
When the sunlight's not around.

We live and learn;
For more we yearn
And we hope to "get ahead"
We're born alone
And return home
In the same way, when we're dead.

We live our lives in isolated bubbles;
For each of us, a separate reality...
Everyone has his own world of troubles
Though in the eyes of others, we share identity...

Thanks, Cpat.  Food for thought, if nothing else...

Very interesting thoughts...life can certainly be so, but I think most of us flow in and out of our isolations.  I like the flow of the piece and the repeated stanzas.

SEA:  strange, isn't it -- how one can feel that way?  This tune is somewhat in a "Reggae" feel...  Thanks for reading.

VAS:  Indeed, life is the ebb and flow of which you speak, as are our relationships with one another.  I guess that's part of the imagery I got with this piece:  many soap bubbles which can create suds together, but they still remain independent from each other at the same time.  And once in a while, you can even have a bubble within a bubble, but it's all temporary anyways...  Thank you, too, for reading this.
