And You Whisper My Name

You hide in the darkness,
And there you remain.
You follow my footsteps,
And whisper my name.

You linger behind me
A reminder, a refrain,
Singing dark nothings
And you whisper my name.

You mock my sadness,
Mirror my pain,
You are my dark side.
Blocking wholeness again.

Surviving without substance,
Burning without fire,
You’re memories of truth,
I can’t call you a liar.

You chase without running,
And just follow my lead,
You’re always behind me,
On my sorrow you feed.

I know you’ll not leave me,
You’re there 'til I die,
Reflections of the past,
In mind’s eye make me cry.

I run, but can’t hide,
You reflect all my shame.
You echo dark memories,
And you whisper my name.

I'm truly overwhelmed by this.....

A soft whispering and so blue.....
It's true........in so many ways, it's true.

Thank you dear ~Mysteria~ for this.....it has made me feel a deepr hue of blue......

I want to thank you all for reading this one about depression.  It is about a part of many people's lives, and I wanted to show the battle they face each day fighting a demon that is hard to destroy without help.  However with help and time, it can    Thank you again.

Like Nat King Cole sang....

"The ghost of you clings
these foolish things
remind me of you"

Well written poem on the the reflections of the past...the ones that cling!
Love that picture!....can I get her phone #?

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Valerie: Thank you.

Ethome: You behave!  Don't have her phone number but I suggest you check any local gym? Thanks for the lyrics of my all time favorite singer, and thanks for reading this.
