I Wouldn't Change a Thing, 6/26/01

We'd sit around the bunkhouse-
And pick and sing a few.
Of course our favorite singer,
Was good, old Chris Ledoux.

There's something 'bout the lifestyle,
That a working cowboy leads-
An air of independence,
That type of living breeds...

And I wouldn't change a single thing-
Not even if I could...
It wasn't always easy-
Nor the outcome, always good.

I've had my fair share of wrecks-
And often crashed and burned.
But I wouldn't take a million bucks
For all the things I've learned.

I like to hear the timber wolves-
Out on the great Divide.
I think of honest ponies-
That I used to work and ride.

I think of all the good times-
And the sorrows that life brings...
If I could do it over-
I wouldn't change a thing.

I really like your style!  To-the-point, diegestable, and poignant, as well as imagery-laden.  Do you write country songs?

A good man you are, and that's all that matters when your number is up.

Perfect fit for us here in Bakersfield, too. Well written, honest, forthright.

Thanks!

What a satisfying statement to be able to say. Your  life has been lived to the fullest, I would imagine.

I always watch for your poetry.  It's so distinctive and entertaining.
