The Communion Rail

To know your heart
As you've known mine,
And with this pure expression join
Our lips at last upon a chalice
Blessed by priests who did not notice
How we've judged our coming here
By counting others.
This sweet, this dearest taste of you
Revealed through wine that barely covers
Quiet love must I confess
This change in line
Not yet discovered?

I stand, mouth agape, for I cannot say an answer, for it is not my call...

I just know that all have fallen short, therefore, we are then commanded to repent that we may know forgiveness.  So then, with a full searching of the heart, then...

Enjoyed this, Bob, read it twice, pondered thrice...at least.
