When Your Heart is Mine

Into your inner works
I travel,
an intrepid journey beyond id,
past superficial mechanics I slide,
through layers of tissue, skin.

There are no secrets
in your keep,
advancing upon your heart,
each element I will expose,
each ventricle, mine to chart.

I love your familiar cadence,
with its slight skip now and then,
yes, an alluring sound,
this tidal rush
where all walls resound.

What am I to do with your fate,
held in greedy hands?
There is only one thing to do,
relinquish all power;
simply, I will love you.
