There are no devils here
no demons hiding to perform
just a needle poised
to deliver the blow

I am sorry about how you live
For your mother, father, or girlfriend
no matter whom you wish to blame
It is your raised hand killing you

It is not from evil addiction rises
there is no force working to destroy you
just the weakness that comes with sloth
a lazy mind you set to fall apart

A real man

kisses his children goodnight

Hauntingly powerful images here, James.  Addiction can grab ahold of you and breaking free again is a serious struggle.  You have portrayed it well.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Very powerful write, liked it much.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.
