Flower

Flower on my window sill
Your beauty astounds me
I wish I could be your center
So your beauty would surround me

Or the minerals in your soil
To promote your growth without toil
Saving moisture for your petals to sip
Sun high in the sky, ladle you can dip

Or the roots that hold you firm to the ground
So earths weather can't toss you around
But free you to sing your songs
For you know right where you belong

Or the stem that holds your head up high
Beauty to shine for all the sky
Fearless and knowing your held up strong
With love from your stem you can depend on

Springs sun would be nice, not to hot or to cold
As a spotlight on your beauty for all to behold
All these things I wish I could be
For there the very things you are to me

I love flowers ... and you've done this flowering poetic justice.

Marge: I consider it an honor comming from you    Thanks

Sunshine: I cant begin to have the words to really thank u from my heart...

Interloper: Flowerful... I love it
                    LOL

Bob: Thank You kind sir..

To All: This is really special to me, I mean,
anyone reading something that I have written.
All my life I've had this stuff in my head or would write for whatever reason and it would come out in poem form. Until about 8 months ago.... I never told anyone and threw it all away... I thought everyone thought like that...and it seemed so private... So to let other see (parts of me) and someone even likes it is...... Well you know
   Thank You

A delicate expression you have here, Connie.  When one is an aesthete and sensitive to all things beautiful, hedonism takes on another form -- one of positivity.  So what kind of flower are you picturing?

Zinsser, you have written a lovely poem.  I hope you can remember all the ones you threw away and get them in here for us to enjoy.  I think you are a beautiful flower,  ME

I think many of us know how it feels to long to be even a small part of something beautiful - you've written that longing well in a lovely poem.
