Intolerance

This world is full of beauty of that you must agree
Why is it then that intolerance is all around me?
How can you say you uphold the value of a friend?
When you speak in words that degrade and offend
Intolerance and bigotry should have no place here
In this haven where our souls grow without fear
Our lives are blessed because of our love for beauty
Don’t condemn because of your own inability to see

If their opinion differs so very much for your own
Does it make any difference what they do at home?
How is it your concern how others love or exist?
Is it really your business who’s lips they have kissed?
You have a duty and that’s to yourself to be ever true
It’s not for you to comment or interfere as you do
Here is a place where it doesn’t matter who you are
Here in this haven friends gather from near and far

There’s nothing so easy to destroy as a friend’s heart
All it takes is an unthinking word to rip it all apart
Just stop and think before you say the words of pain
Do you really need to spread that rumour yet again?
What is gained by saying such things to your friend?
Are they going to change and their lives to amend?
Because you don’t approve well, just who are you?
Are you a friend? No a friend supports you through

You with your petty jealousies and spiteful tongue
Listen to your heart it has a love song to be sung
It’s the song of friendship, a song of freedom’s safety
A heart song of tolerance and free from all bigotry
Let go of the knife you were stabbing into that back
Try to regain some compassion this is what you lack
If you have words to say that aren’t filled with love
Then stop and ask if you are equal to our lord above

Give thought to your words don’t let them hurt you
Because when you’re intolerant that’s what you do
The reflection of damage will contaminate you more
Your soul will cease to fly and no more will it soar
You’ll be bound to the ground with a narrow mind
Held in chains ever captive where love is left behind
Heed my words of love for they are written for you
Don’t let hatred in, let loves beauty shine through
Marsha

Yes, my sentiments exactly, I believe that all people should be treated with love and respect and given the opportunity to bless our lives!

Now there is a ton of good advise in that one!  I sure hope a ton of people listen to it, and a ton of rumors and ill thoughts are put to rest.  There is nothing worse than one little rumor, good or bad to start, it is cancerous, so ask me if I liked this poem, OH YEAH!
