Battered and bruised
Searching for clues
Wondering why
She did'nt just die

First it was her dad
Then her husband turned bad
A life full of misery and scars
So she makes this wish upon the stars

Stars up high
To you I cry
For protection
and direction

Take me away
I'm too tired to stay
Please hear my cry
I'm ready to die

Hello 'possum.  Please let us know if this is fiction....

or fact.

We tend to care much around here.

Be well.

=========================

this is very sad and touches me deeply...
I have loved many who are too tired to want to carry the past with them...
Heal in your own light...and on those stars... wish for strength and direction to get back to you.
take care..keep writing...it helps.

I'm going crazy, I'm losing sleep.
I'm in too far, I'm in way too deep over you.
You'll always be the one.
You were the first, you'll be the last.

Thank you, 'possum, for letting us know...

so many times, poets write from personal experience....

and this IS a family....

now...

write on!

If only she could convince herself that she can move beyond this, if she truly tried (not at ALL easy, I know, but with desire comes decision, and with decision comes action.  From there who really knows...?).  Enjoyed re-reading this and understanding the feeling in it a little closer to heart.

I think that's the key to this poem...sometimes we need a new direction...a new plan...James
