Hey y'all. This is the first poem I've put here, so tell me what you think!

Under the lights
Before the audience
Becoming another…
Being different
For a moment
For an instant
Stepping outside yourself
The audience is fuzzy...

But the task is so clear

Under the stars
Alone in the night
Becoming adult
Being yourself
For a moment
For an instant
Seeing the stars clearly
Through the small strip of sky
Visible between the hills

Onstage, Offstage
A few feet, a few steps
But an ocean of difference

Looking at the narrow blue strip
Sometimes, if one gazes hard enough
A falling star can be seen…

Looking out on the rows of chairs
After the house lights are off
Close your eyes…

Perhaps you’ll see what you are
Perhaps you’ll see what you may become

Maybe, just maybe… a star is born

"All the world's a stage, and the men and women merely players"-W.S.

LTS, the first read was filled with strong imagery, but with the second read, I noticed the comparison/contrast between stage/country;  people/self; expectation/potential...  Much deeper upon careful contemplation than at first appears.  Even the title, I just noticed, has a nice comparison between stars in the sky and "stars" as stage artists.  Very nicely done!  Welcome to a very uplifting site.
