the smoky grayness
of the sky
matched the
       silver grayness
              of my mood
both seemed
       to be casting
              drops so
                     numerous
that I could not
gather them
all if I tried

if I could
       gather them
I would fill
       the chalice of
     my heart
so that you
       might drink
              of me

but,
     I feel that
all the chalices
       of the world
could not quench
       the fire of
              your passion

and that,
       if you could,
you would drink
       of me
              until I was dry

if you could

but,
   the stream that
          flows from me
                 is such

and
   the fire that
          burns within you
                 is such

that
     we
          will
               never
                    know

I loved this... the first verse, I've often experienced... the latter part I'll probably never know... but I can sure appreciate. *S* This is beautiful, Sven.
