reposts from open 10...thank you Logan

~Ever Near~

Rose washed twilight ... the heavens streaked in lavender shades and lilac hues,
the night swallows gather and dance above ... they sing to me a lullaby of blues.
Satin skies of black ebony ... orange glow of harvest moon ...
cascade of crystalline stars ... all serve to remind ... you were taken too soon.

Midnight's translucent mist ... ribbons of gentle, healing, rain,
mystical clouds of soft gray comfort ... embrace me and ease my pain.
At the calm dark waters edge ... dance iced blue reflections of light ...
to again feel you near ... I need only to taste the night.

You once promised to give me ... the sun, the wind, the moon, the stars ...
and I now know you did ... for my love ... that's where you are.
You are the warm winds that whisper to me ... the golden sun upon my face,
you are my earth and sky enchanted ... my time transcending into space.

Silver laced strands of moonlight shadows ... the celestial glow felt deep within,
sparkling rains that fall like diamonds ... glistening like angel dust upon my skin.
The first shimmering flakes of winters snow ... azure ice castles in the sky,
you are the quiet changing of my seasons ... the forgiving tears angels cry.

You exists where ever natures grace and beauty can be found,
and it is by these gifts ... and my undying love ... we are forever bound.

Janet Marie

for DeVante' ... always with me

~On The Wings Of Butterflies~

I don't need a hundred scented candles burning,
for I can see your eyes in one single flames glow.
I don't need to read anymore poetry ...
for your rhymes of me ... told me all I ever need to know.

No longer do I need love songs ...
no need for the lyric or melody.
For the first time I heard your voice,
I heard angels sing and knew inner harmony.

I've no need for orange glow sunsets ...
no need for twilight skies streaked in violet hues.
No need for azure linen clouds of lace ...
all these things pale next to my need for you.

No longer do I wish on silvered diamond falling stars,
nor do I gaze at the neon moon so blue.
I don't search the indigo midnight sky ...
hoping to catch a glimpse of you.

I don't feel you in the rain's shimmering mist,
nor in the sun's golden fingers that bronze my skin.
None of nature's beauty can compare ...
to the place where I keep you deep with in.

You are the crystalline oceans that rise up inside of me,
together we lie on my soul's white beaches of sand.
You are the ivory tides that pull at my beings gravity,
the moment I touched infinite ... was the moment you touched my hand.

No longer do I need the things that mortal love brings ...
for I found completion when I saw my own reflection in your eyes.
And all the contentment I will ever need or hope to dream ...
will be found where you lie inside of me ... and on the wings of butterflies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No fog clear in the moonlight
The stars shine so bright now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touching my face
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close
Now I will reach for the stars
Because Oh my love, that's where you are
~Vertical Horizon~
I'm going crazy, I'm losing sleep.
I'm in too far, I'm in way too deep over you.
You'll always be the one.
You were the first, you'll be the last.
My dear stars and body, sigh, Janet Marie, those were the most beautiful words I have ever had the fortune to read. If I had anything to do with bringing those back to light, well, then, dear Lady, I can only bless the fates for doing so. I am in awe of you...gentle smile
I love it when these wings of the butterfly
come back to visit...like a warm breeze
washing over a sunkissed sky.  His love is
felt in the words of weave and through you
we bask in that love and devotion...the kind
that only a handful of people ever really
know...beautiful girlie...just beautiful.
Love you~
So many beautiful sentiments JM ... I sometimes become so lost in the depth of your words, for the sheer intensity of emotion they illicit. Powerful emotions, so deftly described ... you are an amazing writer of the heart sweet gator-gal.
Best wishes,
I feel like I invaded something so private and yet...these words have changed my very soul for they are of the purest love and devotion.  Janet Marie, I thank you for sharing these with us, as these words I am sure are a part of your very being, and so beautifully crafted for all to see and share.
I also hope your problems are solved soon, until then, please give us more from the archives.
Janet
I remember reading these poems before and the beauty within both of them is simply breath taking.......I don't know what to select...it's all so superb....
"You once promised to give me ... the sun, the wind, the moon, the stars ...
and I now know you did ... for my love ... that's where you are.
You are the warm winds that whisper to me ... the golden sun upon my face,
you are my earth and sky enchanted ... my time transcending into space."
"You exists where ever natures grace and beauty can be found,
  and it is by these gifts ... and my undying love ... we are forever bound."
These words touch me deeply and make me realize that the wonderful language of poetry will always be special! .........Like this from the second poem....
"You are the crystalline oceans that rise up inside of me,
together we lie on my soul's white beaches of sand.
You are the ivory tides that pull at my beings gravity,
   the moment I touched infinite ... was the moment you touched
     my hand."
That's fabulous poetry!  Amazing how much that presence is still alive in your very soul and heart.....life is always there....it's refreshing and energy filled and so rewarding when your muse can capture it like this!!    Alive.... life is alway there!!
There was a time from my fair pen when the softest words would come.
When the mild bubbling fountain poured notes upon the young.
Long before the metal and long before the deals.
when sweet chords rang out from the silence to the real.
But there was no disguising and mystery hid in clouds
And to the verdant sweeping hills I would sing aloud
And I walked upon the forest trails and I bathed in waterfalls.
where the mind was filled with nature's thrills and rested on the call.
And then the young winds rose to blow stick houses down to mud
and the faithful ones stood waiting for tears that wouldn't run.
Now time is is overgrown with the glitter of the race
with many a legend lost and gone and many a God too late.
In there with baited breath reserved for all they can keep
they see a golden future running through their dreams
and pushing for wealth on a young and stormy main
they land on the hidden shores of legerdemain.
Let's bring out the old guitar and sing to the trees
and lay down some notes that sound like the breeze.
Let's open the heart and let the blood flow
and light the old campfire and sing songs we know.
Within the tall greenwood the secret is hiding
the sun it comes creeping with the breath of dawn
Across still waters all the world is waking
amoung the fresh dewdrops there comes a song...
"We are the singers that sing in the moonlight
singing our love songs till the bright morning comes
bringing new life and praising the daylight
laying out charms for the work to be done."
So over the hillsides and across the skies
out of the wetlands their voice comes alive
up the deep rivers all the way to the head
singing thier love songs to bring out the dead.
singing them out and making them known
til sounds of the new day cover their tone.
Another great day and a feast for the breath
a praise to the living and the maker be blessed
Oh the songs to the future they've all been sung
Some heavy as metal and some lighthearted fun....
But over the hillsides and across the skies
out of the wetlands there's a song that's alive!
The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie
