Down Too Long
By: Noah Eaton
6/22/01

I’ve been down too long
I can’t seem to sing a song
Please don’t leave my heart bleeding in my lap
I’ve been down so long

Abandoned like a lost kitten
Crying for someone’s loving comfort
Feeling so lovelorn in a world so small to me
In all this time I feel so insecure

Night swimming in an ocean of broken hearts
Losing myself in sorrow
No raft to hold on tightly to
No sight of seagulls to lead me to the coast

My tired body freezing and aching
Skin stinging with hypothermia
My heart is so cold, my lungs are shivering
I am struggling to swim, with this emptiness flooding my nervous system

Half-a-mind crying, half-a-mind hurting
A heart crying to see someone reaching a hand out to save me
Tidal waves slowly pushing me closer
Choking and hallucinating ever so much, dreaming of resting in peace

I’ve been down too long, everything feels so cold
Smiles shipwrecked in pirouetting hurricanes, rotating in my mind
All that’s left is me
Struggling to feel alive…

Mistletoe Angel, you make me cold as I "see" the picture you have painted with your words. So lonesome a picture.  How can we help get you to shore?  Sending warmth to chase away the blue's.   ME

Loneliness and dispair seem to echo throught each line in a haunting rhythm.  No matter how bad it seems for you, there is always hope.  Never forget that, Angel.  (((hugs)))

Noah, I have been there, and it is so very cold. Not knowing if this is personal, or just a very good portrayal of lonliness, but if it is you feeling so down, please hold on, here is my hand.
Take care

Noah,

I pray that is not how you are feeling. You have expressed the pain and lonliness of losing some one sooo well. I have been there as well..as I'm sure we all have.  Look around you.. your friends who love you are reaching out with both hands. Grab one and hold on tight.. being alone only worsens the pain.  ~hugs~ to you Noah.
