To Comforting Thoughts

The past reigns, the world of you
drifts within me, suspends me
in your endless shades of blue.

Wandering each night down lonely halls,
shadows echo your memory.
Voiceless, once again,
only eyes can tell
the secrets I hold, only lips
can taste of every moment together.

The past reigns, the world of you
drifts within me as shadows fall,
eyes close, and I settle in
to comforting thoughts.

~Wynter
