The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-06-21 08:19 PM

Once princes lived in fairy tales
to seek the maiden in her sleep
traverse the lands, o'er hill and dale
and bring her love to always keep.

A kiss in time was all it took
to stir the life force held within
fluttering eyes and startled look
she knew not where her heart had been.

Arise, said he, to maiden fair
no longer slumber thee alone
my kiss of magic fills the air
now I am here to bring you home.

She gave a cry of pure delight
and rode away with him that night.

Sandra, gentle smile, isn't all of it always magic?  Princes, mermaids, seas, enchanted times, ahh, yes..even the twin towers of Barsoom

I'm a sucker for good form and symetry (and rhyme and imagery), not to mention matters of the heart.  Well done.
