In a corporeal internship...

0 posted 2001-06-21 07:36 PM

I'm looking at a symbol
Of the time within a year
Its pages are all numbered,
Showing that the future's near...
An orderly
Chronology
Of days that lie in store
And in reverse,
A timely hearse
For those that are no more...
In time, it will fall victim
To a plastic-covered bin,
For obsolecence is a war
It cannot hope to win.
Despite this fact,
It holds its pact:
Omniscient overview
Each page contains
What time remains,
For each one starts anew...

I'm going crazy, I'm losing sleep.
I'm in too far, I'm in way too deep over you.
You'll always be the one.

Thank you all very much for your heart-felt welcomes and messages.  I am very happy to have discovered this site and look forward to not only posting many more poems but to also reading yours...  this is a little part of what makes life, especially in today's melancholy time, so much more pleasant, inspiring, and optomistic.  There are so many good things in life that just don't get their due credit...  See you all soon...

Missed this before, Mark.  The feeling of time passing by a bit too fast is haunting.

Thanks for the "second printing" of this poem, Wynter, and for the welcome -- I am enjoying this site very much.

Sandra, haunting indeed -- especially when you pause for a moment and put into perspective how quickly an event has passed...  a true dichotomy of "it seems like just yesterday" juxtaposed with "I can't believe it's been _________ years already!"  Hence the importance of truly saturating one's self in the moment as it's happening so as to imprint it as a very strong memory for future replay...
