Daybreak
Before the sun rises
Over today’s mountains
Of worry and routine
When the half light
Of realization is just
Beginning to fill the
Sky with promise
You can still see
The night’s ghosts
As they fade into
The never land
Of dreams and terror

Daybreak…
Lost to those that
rise late in an effort
To hide just a bit longer
In the false death of
Sleep so they may
Search for them selves
And illusions of what
Might have been…
May be…

Lost…
Just as you
Were…

to me

I'm guilty of knowing that second verse well.   I like this a lot.

Ain't it amazin' how folks "hide" in bed, afraid to leave for fear of making a mistake or of losing something.  If you don't try you can never make a mistake ... neither will you grow.  And, what greater waste than that of time or love?
Just got a bit wordy here.  Sorry, but you cause the  words to flow ... yore fault

Sunshine... you don't sleep much because you are afraid you'll miss that first cup of coffee..( grinning) Thanks for the nice words.

sudhir.. Thank you very much for the praise... it is appreciated

Illusion... one who sleeps to late can miss the wonderful transition time..but then again..dreams can be very nice to revel in.

Interloper... noe don't go blaming me for your loquacious nature showing..( laughing) Being from texas..we kind of expect you to have a LOT to say... everything down there being bigger and all.. ( thanks very much for the comments..they are appreciated)
