It's raining again, I miss her. I think I'll drive that route one more time. Just a glimpse, oh please... The steady beat of the rain on the window draws her to her feet...he is so far away. Was that her? No, curtains don't move when nobody's home. There's a space, so empty, I can look at the house and make wishes. From the corner of the porch she slips out into the rain barefoot face uplifted to the sky arms outstretched to embrace the rain. She used to hide her hair stepping out of the shower, lucky towels. but look now! oh, to be the drop that caresses her face, to start at the nape and wander down... gentle rain each drop a kiss his lips, tasting the rain on her own as she moves slowly in invitation. Each droplet his finger tracing a pathway til its a flood of wanting raging through her... ...still she dances. She hears "our song," even now, look at her eyes, always where I lost myself, it's too cold in this car, I want to feel the rain, I want to touch her again... Arms wrapped tight around her she dances to a cold memory yearning for his warmth the feel of his heartbeat his breath on her cheek dance. In her mind, he holds her and she sways to his rhythm. Stronger, faster the rains come but never enough to wash him away. She's holding someone invisible, who looks like me. Dare i? Should i? Could i? She opens her eyes to find him there No...is he real? She reaches to touch A dream never felt like this. Her eyes, her eyes, I see at last. I know what she meant when she said "Dance with me in the rain."
