Compassion
By: Noah Eaton
6/9/01

When your tears don’t seem to sparkle
And the world seems it has stopped revolving
Your translucent heart surrenders every smile
And through your eyes no color can be seen

And when all your sobbing is interrupted
By the sound of a silent brook beginning to babble
And you look at yourself down on the tittering water
To see a silhouette wrap a warm arm around you as you moan

And hearing that whisper that seems to scream deep down inside
How it touches your face, comparing such tears to those you cry
Such that warm smile it wears, suffusing into your eyes
A palpable mirage of the spirit you are, hugging you in it’s arms with a sigh

And how your tears once more reflect the sunlight
And your transparent heart gracefully fondles all your relieves
And a rainbow retraces from it’s gray grave, agog in multitudinous greetings
Hence you know you’re not alone, and through the eyes of pity you are always seen

I am this silhouette, this silhouette is your friend
I’m always here if you need me, there is someone here who cares for you
Embrace my soul-stretched hug, I am here to share your tears
You’ve been there for me, just as I will be here too…

Noah, this is so lovely, and, well, compassionate. Your heart shines through, as always.
