I apologize beforehand for this post, as it came from the innerspirit, and not in the realm of poetry..so read only if you want a ramble of feelings...gentle smile
.....................................................

Open letter of no rhyme this is to be
Only what I think of Father’s Day and me
NOT for me, but only for all the ones who called me Dad
Daddy, Poppa, and various other things
some behind closed doors when I was stern
mostly openly even now, years past, of, I LOVE YOU,
because you cared for me.
Sometimes the father they never had,
in reality or of what they had need.
A small hand grasping mine,
a laugh of delight to show me something new to them
a sticky kiss, a call for help, a moments bliss,
simply holding them in my arms, rocking their pains away.
Triumphs, heartbreaks, growing up, all were there,
the smiles, the touches, showing they cared.
Ahh, I close this down you see, just too many memories
for if I don’t, the tears are going to flow very freely.
Thank you, kids, thank you, loves, thank you for being for me.
gentle smiles, and a wet cheek.

Love to all of you with thanks for always caring

Such sweet ramblings flow from your pen, my poet friend.  Thank you for sharing them.

I loved the ramblings of a sensitive and gentle father. Happy Father's Day.
