Emerge from shadows
where hidden from me
has been the secret doors
to our past

Open now
let me into a heart
craved more than life
your arms, my only home
your kiss, the sweet nectar
that sustains me

Awaken
from the trance of apathy
light torches, lead the way
I beg you, my lord, let me
find you, now before death
steals away remaining embers
of a love once flourishing
as eden itself

In your cool paths, I have walked
away from the scorching heat
of loneliness
I'd found sheer joy
in the amber lights dancing
in your eyes whenever you gazed
upon me

Every beautiful thing
on God's good earth became
more radiant, more colorful
because of you
stars faded in comparison
for you loved me

Beneath you, I'd found ecstacy
the rythm of life pounding hard
in forceful beats,
our hearts raging to become one
lost in passion's fervor
every night an adventure,
every day a present to be opened,
relished, & treasured forever
in your beautiful garden of
refreshment, I'd returned to my youth,
growing healthy, strong
happiness was our butterfly
roaming free...

When my soul became filled
with your future, you marveled at
the soft kiss of roses upon
my cheeks, the long luxurious
length of my hair, the soft
joy in my eyes
you cradled me in your arms,
ready to fulfill my every whim
for I had become as swollen fruit
giving off heady scents of the future
was there anyone more protected than I?
anyone more safe? secure?

never!

until now...

The waters have dried, my lord
there is no shade shielding me
from the scorching heat of loneliness
the land is barren, parched
& my feet burn as I make my way
over this no man's land
you appear here & there, a mirage
a fortress with no key
tell me,

what has happened to us?

Allow me access to your heart,
my lord, for I am the true half
place in my hands, the golden keys
of your trust, love, & commitment
take mine, so that we might finally
be freed from barren's jail
let us again become one
but hurry, my lord, hurry!
or we shall surely die...

Goodness ... !  How lovely is this longing.

Your writing is so softly haunting ...
greatly enjoyed by this lady.

Tier, once again, you amaze me with the depth and honesty of your writing. . . this is really excellent. . . I loved the changes and the shifts of mood and motion. . . there was love, passion, desire, loss. . . all in one poem. . .

well-crafted and well written my friend. . .
