Marry Me at Midnight

I will meet you
at 11:59
one moment short
of yesterday
one moment
to forever in time

beneath the stars
in light of moon
by cool of night
come then, soon

greet me ‘neath the bower
bring with you one white flower
for pure, this love
quite sure, this love

cathedral bell will
ring the hour
high from it’s
escarped tower

by sixth chime
call me “mine”
by twelfth bong
to you, I belong

as the day of yester
meets the morn of new
we marry then at midnight
and start the day in true

Well now, this is very romantic and delightful!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie
