I'm just his friend
I must admit
I'm angry at you
You took his smile away
Made him cry all day

You took his love
The one I so desperately wanted
And tore it up
Stomped on the precious heart
Hidden deep inside

I want to talk to you
To yell at you and say
"You thief, you fiend,
You lied, you led him on."

I hope you are happy
Where you are
In another man's arms

My best friend ran and hid
And took comfort in my arms
And now he left me,
To lick his wounds
The ones inflicted by you

To move away and never come back
I and I alone saw the pain
And felt the tears
And heard the, "But I miss her" speech

I answered the phone
When you were on the other end
And read the "I miss you emails"
The ones that upset him even more

Can't you ever get done playing your games?
The ones that tear loved one's worlds apart
I hope that love means more to you
Than all the money your new-old man can provide
And that someday you realize just how much you lost

I hope you are happy
You tore my best friend's heart apart
I said goodbye to him last night
And on my shoulder he did cry
Please leave him alone, now
Can't you see?
His happiness means more to me

Than all your love could ever be
You took the one person's love I wanted
And left him out in the cold
So when I said goodbye, it was to him
Who was running from your memory

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.

Wow...this is really well written...and really sad too.

Hey.. thanks for commenting my poem. This is sad, but beautiful. You should tell that girl off for hurting your friend like that. He's lucky to have someone like you that he can run to though. I really like this. Write forever..

it is so sad when someone we care about is hurting. we hurt just as much as they do, dont we?

May your dreams always dance to the rhythm of a lover's heartbeat...

wow, there's a lot of emotion here. . . this is a good portrait of what's it like to be the friend that just wishes that the one we really want to be with would just open their eyes and see just what we feel for them. . .

it's a place that we've all been, and you show it very well. . .

Thank you Sven- but do you really think that everyone gets stuck in a situation like this or only the friends that really care but keep it hidden?
