Echo’s Memory

In my heart there’s an echo of you resounding still
Remaining in me with memories of wonder to refill
Quietly sitting within my sanctum that no one goes
I rarely visit for the pain there still aches and flows
Do you still have an echo of me sighing within you?
Can you still summon up the touch of me as I still do?
On some nights when I look as if I haven’t any care
I’ll stop and in a brief moment I will feel you there

I don’t now catch my breath when I hear your name
But my heart hears it echoing within me just the same
And when I seem to pause in doing any little thing
I can still hear you sighing that song you loved to sing
When you dream do you ache in the tormented night
Or don’t you feel the need for dreams desired sight?
I say when asked that I don’t even recall your touch
But you know I'm lying, that I still want you so much

In my mind I remember too much the touch of you
Still hear the echo’s of my heart swearing it’s true
Sometimes and it’s more often than I care to admit
I want so much to return to you and at your feet sit
I have to school myself not to give in to this desire
Remember that you won’t be taking me again higher
There’s no going back but the echoes continue in me
And I’ll carry it always a very cherished hearts memory

Marsha

Very well expressed!  It's both a beautiful and such a painful memory... I know it well

Take care,

Oh Marsha, this expression of the heart is something I can identify with so much right now.  This was eloquent in it's beauty, and so touching.  Hugs.
